Mercenary playstyle seems slow/ clunky

I was hoping for more of a Diablo 3 Demon Hunter playstyle.

The reload mechanic feels a little clunky, and then switching to another crossbow skill doesn't feel fluid either :(

Because first you have to switch to that skill,and then you have to use your primary attack. Kind of a wonky two button play style I didn't know you had to do for this class

As opposed to just holding the key button down for the switched skill.

I find myself one button spamming a single skill instead. Quality of life is easier.

Should I reroll to Ranger Maybe or maybe later on Mercenaries will get more fluid skills / playstyle?
