Account has been locked

So I have a POE account that I created earlier this year. A few hours ago, I purchased POE2 early access from the POE website. It gives me a Steam key to download the game (why would it not just direct me to the PC client download?).

I try playing on Steam. I run into the same issue that seemingly everyone is having, where you never receive the account linking email.

I try downloading the PC client straight from the website because this whole Steam linking process is a mess. Upon trying to login to the PC client, I receive the message "Your account has been locked because it was accessed from another location. An unlock code has been sent to your email address." Big surprise, no email has been sent.

What the **** is this process?

Good news: some people received the code after couple of hours.

Bad news: it's invalid due to it took too long
They really need to remove the account lock from new locations until this mess is sorted out. So many of us wasted today because we can't get a simple email.
I've been devastated and sent emails with no response
Same problem can not get emails and my account is locked, this also prevented me from connecting to steam.

Hi there, just to post some clarification on the more common issues surrounding not having access to Path of Exile 2:

Players who have purchased an Early Access key and are still experiencing access issues may need to look into their Connections Page to ensure everything is correctly linked.

If you log into your account on our website via Steam or Epic Games, you may need to link an Email address to your account. If you are waiting to receive an email code from us to link your email with your account, the team is aware of the delays associated with these emails and are working hard to get them out to you as soon as possible.

If you log into your account on our website via Email and Password, and you have purchased PoE2 through Steam or Epic Games, you may need to make sure the correct Steam / Epic Games account is linked on your Connections page.

Once you have successfully linked your Email and Steam/Epic Games if necessary, navigate to the Early Access Page of your account and make sure it confirms your Path of Exile account has got Early Access. If this has been successful, it should say "Your account is eligible for Path of Exile 2 Early Access Thank you for your (or your benevolent friend's) support!"

If you are still running into issues after trying the above steps, or if you have already linked an incorrect email address or steam account, you will have to contact us at support@grindinggear.com so we can look into this for you. Hello, I’ve been playing the game since the very first day it was released, but suddenly yesterday my account got locked. I created a new account to post on the forums. I haven't been able to log into the game with my main account since yesterday. I haven't received any code, and even if I did, there is nowhere to enter it because I can't access my account in any way. When I try to log in, it directly says "Your account has been locked, please contact the support team," and since the support team is extremely busy, I still can't log into the game and can't play with my friends. I would like to receive a response to the emails I’ve sent as soon as possible and for my account to be unlocked. I also hope that my account won't be locked again, but if it is, at least I would like to receive an automatic code email so that I can confirm it, enter the code, and continue playing the game!
how many emails do we have to send to get a response. I have tried for 4 days now and still now response. my issue is the same as a lot of individuals. logged for a few days to come back and have my account locked with no rime nor reason on steam. at this point customer service isn't there to help anyone at all. some sort of response would be greatly appreciated.
