Cursor position vs skill aiming? Skills don't aim at the cursor.

Is anyone else having an issue with their skills not aiming at the cursor when facing left or right? Its pretty good when facing the top or bottom of the screen but when aiming at the left or right side of the screen skills are aimed more than an inch offset from my cursor. It's not static either and the degree of offset varies depending on where I'm aiming.

It's making aiming feel pretty bad as I have to offset my cursor from everything I'm trying to hit and how far I have to offset depends on how far left or right I'm aiming.

I've been noticing this more and more. Especially on projectile spells. Cursor is on a target, but my spells go right past enemies. This seems to be more true when holding down a skill for repeated firing.
I am experiencing this as well. I thought I noticed something off in the beginning already, but now I realized it's very easy to replicate with a Sorcerer at least.

I aim halfway to the right of my screen with a firebolt, and the projectile flies 3cm over. I don't know if resolution affects it, but I'm on 1440p.

It's very noticeable and annoying to deal with.
My projectiles generally feel like they're going where I'm aiming but Contagion has like a 20% chance of going on a completely different enemy than the one I feel like I'm aiming at.
Made a short video to showcase this using Firebolt.

Edit: It feels like this problem is also amplified for slower projectiles, like firebolt vs bow for example. Targetting the enemy directly will get you a hit with a fast moving projectile like a bow shot, but for a slower projectile like firebolt, direct targetting allows time for the enemy to dodge out of the way. This is why it's common to target your cursor to where you estimate the enemy will be in .5 seconds. That's why this ends up feeling twice as bad.

I *think* POE1/2 both make a "ranged miss" visually go wide of the target, which makes it look like it didn't go where you pointed.. is that maybe what you are seeing?

That said, I do find it very hard to tell when I'm missing because my aim is off, and when I'm missing because of accuracy failure.
I have same issue with Contagion. I holding cursor over one enemy, he is highlighted as a target, but spell is applied to the enemy that stands next to selected one. It is really annoying.

If you look at the poster above you who provided a video showcasing the issue on sorc there are no enemies to miss. The projectiles just don't go where the cursor is, they are offset when aiming to the left and right of the screen.
I'm having the same issue. It's really noticeable with the High-Velocity Rounds skill.
It's the same in PoE 1 - it's how they represent height.

When you've got your mouse over a target & it's highlighted, then you shoot the target.

When you have your mouse over the *ground*, most projectile skills will fire from shoulder height to a point shoulder height over the patch of ground you're targeting.

This is also why it's most extreme to the left & right, and if you shoot directly up & down you won't notice it.

I don't personally agree with this targeting logic, but it's how GGG has done it for as long as I remember. "Ground Targeted" doesn't mean shooting down at the ground, it means shooting across that patch of ground.
