Question about standalone

Is it worth downloading the 44gb patch today while we wait for ea release of the patch for standard client? bought access but nmot the steam version and on the main website it says the ea pre-loading is down for standalone. do those 44 gbs help make the ea release smaller when available? Thank you.

There's different clients for PoE1 and PoE2. The PoE2 download is like 90 gbs and is not affected by the 44 gbs download for PoE1.
Only worth downloading if you plan to pass the time playing PoE1 while waiting for a key or watching streamers.
