Starting the game on steam

Hi together,

a friend of mine does use the stand alone client from ggg and he could at least start the game allready and configure the settings in the menu. I tried to start my steam version but it says that the game will be released soon.

My question is if I can start the game a bit berore the queue starts or do people with the stand alone clinet have a little advantage? I would quickly install the stand alone then.

Yeah, if you look at the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2" folder it is currently empty. I tried to change the standalone "Content.ggpk" file to look to steam install so I didn't ahve to install it a 2nd time but can't even do that....

I guess I'll download the standalone client. I see some streamers in queue, I hope it's not the real queue, I'd be upset if standalone got in before Steam without them saying that.

it is the real one. It is due to the unlock on steam.
Just use the stand alone client.
