Question about installing PoE 2 on both standalone and steam

Happy launch day exiles,

I have a quick question. I know steam encrypts pre-load games (which is why my PoE 2 folder from steam is empty). I'm worried about the ques because that means my PC will have to take the time to extract all the files into the proper folder. But I want to play on Steam to track my play time when the servers get stable.

So...can I install the standalone client on a separate drive? Or would that cause conflicts? (It's currently on my E: drive for steam, so I would be installing the standalone on my X: drive.)
