Character Names in poe2

Does anyone know if EA character names will transfer over or if character names in PoE2 are even required to be unique? This is my one thing I'd want to take the day off, I hate getting the bad pick on character names, really sours your experience. With how unfinished EA is (not all classes, etc), is it really a beta and everything will be wiped? I couldn't find anyone who knew for sure.

Good question. I kind of want to give me POE2 witch the same name as my POE1 witch. If I can't, it's fine, though.

Character names in POE2 are unique and not transferred over from POE1. You have to recreate them.

Do they carry over from EA to when seasons start? EA seems kinda like a beta with how unfinished it seems to be.

It's been confirmed that Early Access characters not be deleted when it ends, but will stay in a separate Early Access league forever instead of being moved to Standard. That way we don't have our characters deleted, and they don't have to worry about stuff from EA that needed massive rebalancing polluting Standard forever.
