Restart Steam and Preload will popup on the poe2 entry in library

Just fully close and restart steam and it will update, then download it.

Yep downloading now. Didn't even need to restart steam or anything.

My question is will I be able to play EA on steam, or do I need to play EA on the client only?

Doesn't work for me unfortunately. Restarted steam a billion times. Even restarted my computer to see if it works.

They announced in the https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3592995 post that they decided forego a torrent for EA to allow their download servers to take on the full brunt of the downloads.

Not working for me. Not sure if it's because I didn't buy a supporter pack and instead have a free key from having spent enough over the years. It's kind of frustrating.

Let's all hope that the servers can withstand the onslaught...

If you've redeemed your key on Steam, the game should be added to your library and available to pre-load now. You will need to have linked your Steam account to your PoE account as well, although that may be only to play the game. The PoE2 client will not automatically appear in your Steam library unless you've manually added it first via Games>Activate a Product on Steam.
