Couch co-op Cross play

Hi,

I would like to play Couch co-op with my nephew on Saturday on my PS5.
He will log in his own account and he would like to take his progress with him when he goes home on Sunday and plays on his PC.

2 Questions.
Does the AE work cross platform?
Or will he need to buy another key to play on sunday?

thanks!

I could be wrong, but the way I understood it so far is that during Early Access, couch co-op could be limited to that account only, meaning that for couch gaming purpose, every character will be tied to your account, for example.

They didn't mention if we could login with a second account, so I'm not sure. It could be coming down at a later date during EA or it will only be possible at release.

As per the Early Access FAQ :

"
Is couch co-op available in Early Access?

Yes, you can play Path of Exile 2 in couch co-op mode on a single account right from the start. The second player will be able to create a character on that account.

My take is if your nephew happens to have a gaming laptop, he should bring it with him at your house, just in case he cannot log on his own account on your PS5. If he only has a desktop PC, well, it's harder to carry around just in case ;)

As far as having to buy another key : The way I read it, Early Access keys are tied to a particular platform. For example, if you bought yours for the PS5, you cannot log on a PC with that particular account/key: You would have to buy a PC EA key too, which seems like a bit much.

As such, I could be wrong, but I think it could be possible for a PC player (with a PC key) to log in on another PC, but I don't think it's possible for a PC player to log in with his own EA key on a PS5 or Xbox.

Maybe I don't remember it well but I thought in the interview they said you could log in to a second account... unless I'm missremembering and it was a to do list thing.

I am quite certain that it is possible to login at another PC if you have EA PC access. I bought my key via the website and it worked like this: After purchase, my account was marked to have access to EA. This means I can download the game client from GGG's website, log in with my account on there and play – at no point do you have to somehow specify which physical PC you want to use.
My message wasn't exactly clear, but what I meant is that there is no mention whatsoever as whether you can couch co-op on two different accounts or not. We were talking about couch co-op after all.

It's obvious you can play with your PC EA account on any PC, whether it's yours or not as long as you have your login credentials, but there's no guarantee you'll be able to log on two different accounts on the same device on the first day. They only wrote that you only need one account to play couch co-op and can create the two characters on that particular account.

Nothing more, nothing less. We'll see tomorrow if one can log with two accounts at the same time on the same device.
