why won't there be a steam preload?

It's of my understanding that Steam is the one that dictates what games get pre-load treatment and which ones don't. Generally, it's usually only very large AAA releases that get it.

I pre loaded smite 2 alpha test client and its not even close to AAA nor even a single A title. I really hope w/e is the reason it gets sorted out before the launch. poe2 could be a 100gb download and that will be a bummer

ggg could have set the download like they did with every league before poe2, and have the login servers offline just like they did with any other league start before, dont realy know why they promise "a couple of days" preload when its still not aviable for roguhly 40% of the playerbase
