Comparing a certain witch hunter ascendancy node with a certain ranger ascendancy node

As I have a terrible habit of trying to know all I can about a game before it is released, and also trying to plan an ascendancy choice. I feel it's a bit weird having to choose between the Ranger and the Mercenary, as one of those choices (by the leaked information, thanks fextralife and others) seems to show that one of the classes gets 20 weapon passive points and the other gets 5 passive skill points. Thich seems like a 75% disparity in power, making it hard to choose the ranger. Jonathan did say that you can use your weapon passive points all in one weapon set so..

Even if you were correct about the power discrepancy (you aren't), balance changing league to league and patch to patch is a feature, not a bug. If they nerf the thing you say is OP or buff the thing you say is not OP in a future patch then you'll have a reason to play the other thing. Just don't get trolled into play something silly like Freezing Pulse Maurader and you'll be fine.
