PoE2 Royale?

Have they said anything about this mode coming back for PoE2? (Obviously not in EA and probably not even at launch, but im curious if the team would be interested in bringing it back at some point but in PoE2's gem system)

I thought I was the only player missing this mode for real^^. Yeah that would be awesome. Poe is usually a solo adventure sooner or later, but royal changed that a lot. Any pvp system that would be popular would do the job.

From what I've seen so far, I think PvP would be great in PoE 2. Even though it wasn't fantastic in PoE 1, I miss daily Leo missions and Royale was a nice change of pace. I hope they consider giving PvP some love in PoE 2.

are we talking about pvp arena or cutthroat races? they mentioned races briefly but it doesn't sound promising

No i was referring to the Royale Game mode they tested a handful of times. Apparently It was asked briefly in DM and Ghazzy's TavernTalk episode about 57 and a half minutes in

to me it sounds like some kind of battle royal where you park as many exiles as you can into a small room and have them throw down until there is a last man standing.

You do know that PoE Royale was literally an April Fool's joke, right? People had some fun with it for a weekend, so they brought it back one more time after that only to find that not enough people were interested to start matches most of the time. They haven't done it again since, I don't think you'll see it again now that Battle Royale is very five minutes ago.

GGG did a huge push for PVP a few years back, complete with a Swiss-matched tournament that had a top-spec Alienware laptop as a 1st prize, It was a disaster; Forsaken Masters was their worst-performing league ever (yes, worse than Lake of Kalandra). GGG actually pulled telemtry afterward to figure what the hell went wrong, only to discover that 95% of PoE players were playing by themselves and did not give a single fuck about PvP, or multiplayer. They've never talked about PvP again since, and probably won't... ever. Sorry, PVP fans, but if you want a robust PvP game you probably need to be playing something else.
