Price increase in Mexico, you doubled the price
" Sure, allow me to respond. GGG appears to have switched from a purchase power parity model of regional pricing to a monetary parity policy and this could be due to a number of reasons : 1:) There was likely significant provable fraud in relation to using the purchase power parity to get the products for less money. One or more streamers might have demonstrated the method to do so on stream. They tried to backstop the issue with updates to their policy last year but the fraud likely continued. This is the most likely explanation as it makes the most sense. 2:) Could be some weird case where they want to actively increase the amount of different currencies they have in reserve as well as prove the markets by disincentivizing fraud via the method of just making everything cost the same amount 3:) Banks. Its possible the bank was being less than helpful and told them to just do the transactions as a specific reserve currency so they could be more helpful. Like, just as an example, an RMT site was selling keys for less than $30 which they'd purchased with stolen credit cards in a currency that had a hugely advantageous price. I'm sorry that somebody ruined your bag but somebody ruined your bag and y'all just need to deal with it. IGN : Reamus

" Everything you just said is based on a false premise. GGG always had regional pricing for POE on their website. They still do for some countries (such as Brazil and Russia). You can select which currency you'll use based on location and payment source. About 10 days ago they removed regional pricing for most but not all countries on Steam, without saying a word, effectively doubling prices for people in countries where $15 isn't pocket change. If they had made an announcement last week, as any decent company would, I think a lot of players would've disagreed but respected the decision. How it stands, GGG does not have the decency to address its community and build this level of trust with its player base. |
