Can't zoom in and out on controller?

First. I played mostly when there wasn't official controller support
And I must say I'm impressed how far you went with remaking UI and everything

Can I really not zoom?

It wouldn't even be a huge issue, if I could just map it myself to the controller in steam

Same.. it's sad that I can't zoom in and see the nice artwork/graphics :'(

I understand that making the mouse an option would be a pc-only option.. But it would be cool to have a menu item with a gauge that allows to adjust the zoom for controllers. It's clunky, but I'd totally use it on a controller-only setup.

Another option could be to have a unique button combination that takes into "camera mode" (or "zoom mode"?).. Like clicking both L3 + R3 could put you in in that mode, where you can then adjust the camera zoom.

Yeah, I'd definitely like to see this as well. They could easily whitelist the scroll wheel in controller mode to allow rebinding that in Steam Input(or other remapping software).

That would be the easy route, but ideally it would be a part of the controller scheme and available to console players as well.
