I'm in NZ but why shipping cost too much?

Shipping cost: USD 132.01

This cost will be added to your payment

Amount due: USD 612.01

Please tell me why.

insurance on the items, speed of delivery, and possibly some sort of import tax would be my guess.
Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

He who controls the pants controls the galaxy. - Rick & Morty S3E1
Actually GGG company is near me, about 15 minutes away from my house. hahaha

It's too expensive, and the postage tracking post is about $20 for that size of the package.

I might pick up myself the physical stuff. if I could.
Shipping out of the US was a terrible decision, someone sure dropped the ball there. It's been bad, and over-priced, for a number of years.

This is gonna cost them a lot of money.
Hey pickyni, our distributor for the physical items is located in the US so shipping prices would be based on their location and international shipping costs from there.

Oh... I see. I never thought that the shipping address was based in the US.

Thank you for your kind replying
Ive never payed that much in shipping for so few items from the US, I order from Amazon US all the time. This is crazy.

any chance the studio can do a bulk shipment for NZ players, i would love to get some physical merch but $132usd($223.99nzd) just for shipping is just too much for a hoodie, tshirt and book.

its sorta disappointing that NZ players get the short end even when its a NZ dev

I'm in Australia and I'm being quoted the same USD 132.01 as OP. AUD 204.60, not including currency exchange fees.

I'm not a traditional whale but I do like to splash when I feel like I'm getting value for the money, and especially when it's for a new thing I'm excited for.
The big Liberator supporter pack is obscene, but okay sure, it's allowed to be because it's a supporter pack. That's kind of the point of it.

The shirt, hoodie, and book would be really cool. But I will absolutely not pay $200 for shipping.

Absolutely not acceptable, unless Chris Wilson personally delivers the items in a sexy Kitava outfit.

P.S. I'm across the Tasman which is a fairly short distance for international logistics. I fully support Kiwis (and only Kiwis) getting free/ local rate shipping from your office. C'mon, my dudes, what is going on!
Having shipped items in the past from US to nz even packages as big as 16.4kg i was still only looking at 13-18 NZD or 7.60-10.53 USD per 500 grams.
My most expensive shipment was 640NZD for the 16kg item and i am expected to pay half that now for shipping of a item that will most likely not even break the 2kg barrier?

It makes me wonder what kind of "fast delivery" option is being picked here as I have seen similar costs for cheap products if you wanted your package in under a week(the 132usd cost) but then give the customer the option between fast and slow shipping times.

As it stands the total cost of the 480 pack will be 1046.13 New Zealand Dollars because of a 27.5% addon to the 480 price for 3 items.

Is the pack worth 1k? debatable I'm leaning towards no tbh and honestly GGG should have done a "hey for those in nz we will do a drop buy it within x days from this post and you can save on shipping although it'l take a bit longer to get your goods/ have a chance to pick it up at our office"

That would have been a nice little event tbh but alas.

Side note shipping an entire high-end PC from USA to nz is cheaper than the pack(including all extra fees) just barely but it is cheaper

For those wondering what the 16.4kg package was it was 2 Coolermaster haf-xb-evo's they are lan box pcs and it was cheaper to buy them overseas and get them shipped over then to buy them locally(who in their right mind would pay 900nzd for a old case)
