Map Fog / filter bug (aka local storage bug) is FAR worse after latest patch
Not only is the map fog bug still happening (map fog resets when reentering zone), sometimes combined with custom filters breaking, but it is happening MUCH faster than before.
I've been using the "start a different game" temp-fix to work around it, but it is now happening more often than once per 8 hours of gameplay. Note that I did a full reinstall less than a week ago. There have been 2 10gb patches since then. I wonder if the patches don't properly clean up after themselves? Anyway, it is super annoying. Last bumped on Nov 25, 2024, 8:50:13 PM

I have the same issue ... What is "start a different game" temp-fix?

" The local storage bug (fog of war/custom filter issues) can be reset by starting a different game. Not every game works. D4 is known not to work, for example. Older games seem to have a higher chance of success. Once you find a game that works, it will work 100% of the time, AFAIK. Steps: 1) Fully close Path of Exile. 2) Launch the other game. Wait for it to be fully loaded. 3) Fully close this game. 4) Relaunch Path of Exile This should have temporarily fixed the map-fog bug (and/or custom filter not working due to local storage bug) in Path of Exile. I'm currently having to do this quite often. Once it happened after only 2-3 hours, but usually it's been in the 6-8 hour range lately. | |
I have the same issues. Doing maps like an idiot trying to find which corridors I already did and which didn't after reentering. The solutions that PS5 players have to find to solve issues - this is some PC level problem solving.
GGG is so bad at consoles I can't believe. I thought they hired a dedicated console team with Trevor at the wheel. And still issue after issue after issue unresolved for months. I just hope we eat all of this just to get a fully polished PoE2 when it launches. |
