Character Names in POE1 and POE2

Can we please get some clarification about how character names will work between POE1 and POE2? In light of the recent account system changes with discriminators it would seem that character names will be unique across both games.

It was stated in a previous interview that POE1 and POE2 will share the same Guild chat and guild system. Given this information, it does not make sense that two characters with the same name between games can exist.

Would love to know this as well, would be very upset if I were to lose my characters name.

Since people will steal others name out of spite, I hope we get to keep "dibs" on the ones we currently have. At least a chance to claim it in some way for a reasonable time period.

I'll be honest and say I would love they rather keep them unique. If someone can create the same charname, that person can smear the reputation of the first. Now of course it depends the system.

System 1 (unique for poe 1 and poe 2 combined):

Bert xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Harry
Jan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Peter

System 2 (unique for poe 1 and seperate table unique for poe 2):

Bert xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Bert
Jan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Jan
Harry xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Harry
Peter xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Peter

System 3 (unlimited duplicates over both systems):

POE 1: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx POE 2:
Jan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Peter
Jan xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Jan
Dieter xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Joachim

The same name can be used by multiple people.
An extra number will make them unique.

For example "Joe" might be "Joe#123" and "Joe#456".

Discriminators are for ACCOUNT names, not character names.

I'll give it a +1 since in a previous thread we were talking, you and I had conflicting support emails about it.
