New Super Rare Orb that upgrades a mod by 1 Tier
Crafting in this game is already super complex and high stakes and costs a tonne to do, the problem is once oyu get a finished item if it's off by one Tier, there's no way to improve it except for making a whole new item.
My suggestion is that you introduce a new very rare Orb that will randomly increase a mod by one tier up to Maximum. It can only choose mods that are able to be increased. So if you have a 5 x T1 mod item with a T5 roll you can eventually make it a perfect item. You would have to use 4 of these orbs to get the last mod to T1 of course. Obviously this would be a super rare drop probably more than a divine/exalt? But not as much as a mirror. This would also help item bloat when you get a pretty good item but it has just that one low tier roll that ruins the item to be unusable, suddenly it's an item that can be invested into to make it great. Yes, this kind of orb is needed. Or it may be a craft with a current orbs, or harvest.

the biggest issue is there is no "risk" involved. crafting without risk will mean that in the future people might choose not to care about mod tiers anymore.
all you need is to roll 5-6 mods that you want then keep slamming a bunch of these orbs until u get all t1s. this will trivialize the entire crafting process in the game. alot of things would be affected as they become no longer valuable. would it make crafting more enjoyable? for the newbie, yes, but it will destroy the current economy. it would change the entire crafting process in POE permanently. i think the best way to balance it out is if the item "randomly hit any mod". its still super valuable but still requires a lot of luck and slamming [Removed by Support]

It's already in the game.

divine teardrop does this on corrupted rares. recombination has a chance to do this on items as well.

+1
I'd be happy paying a handful of divines to turn low-tier desired mods into T1 with enough effort and without the RNG (as in I don't mind it upgrading random mods, just not the chance of downgrading others). It might make crafting that little bit more tolerable for me as it helps reduce the sheer amount of gambling. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds. Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. Last edited by Pizzarugi#6258 on Nov 12, 2024, 11:11:15 AM

imho, any game is done and gone when it has perfect items.
there is nothing you can achieve anymore even if gm's invent new items to make in the next iteration. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

You guys are out of your minds if you think an item that did this would be less rare than a mirror.
