Skill effects are regressing.

GGG is going backwards when it comes to skill effects. They are becoming worse and worse. I fear because of optimization requirements for console compatibility, they make the skills look less powerful. I hate when console affects the pc version of games.

Case in point:

In my opinion they look like shit in both examples. That second fireball has much faster projectile speed so maybe this is the reason.

No, no second fireball looks worse. Looks more like a tennisball on fire.

Do you take to account that you look at video? Do you have idea how encoding and decoding work etc.?

The current spell effects look amazing so far.. on PC.

For this type of game.. 3d isometric with a fixed camera position, current consoles should be more than capable of displaying as fancy and intensive effects as the artists can imagine.. with power to spare.

So hopefully it has nothing to do with optimization. At least.. put it on sliders so people can control the amount, if it must be reduced. Same idea should apply to physics, lighting, amount of particles.. it should all be adjustable, ideally, so that people can go ham if their system can handle it and they prefer that style.

Agreed on the fireball, OP. When they switched it to the trails version, it looked so bad that I purchased the Dragon Fireball effect. Maybe that was their plan.

On the topic, I'd like to see the origin Discharge effect return too, even if I have to buy it via MTX. The new discharge looks shockingly underwhelming.
