Esc key to anything is non-functioning

Hit Esc, select either Exit to character selection or Exit to login screen no longer works. Client gets "stuck" until either it disconnects (abnormally) or one manually closes it off.

It also is unable to get a bug report number as soon as one hits the Esc key as client becomes totally non-responsive.

This has only been happening in the past couple of hours.
