It's not looking good....
From bumping the launch dates to a rocky new launch.
We are seeing more and more examples of an organization that has taken on too much and does not have the management to keep things going stably. Quality of workmanship is lacking, and it's for the sake of launching more products at the expense of the quality of their current products. POE 1 has seen many delayed leagues, many changes to increase the gap of time required to get items, hance the removal of quantity. Just some observations from someone who helps corporations grow. They are behaving like the 95% of failing businesses. It's not to say they are failing, but the rocky launches are an indication that something is not working out. Their actions are indicating their direction. Regardless of what statements are made or reasons given. The results are lacking. There has been no evidence of statistical surveying of their clientele to determine what products people will like. Instead the corp assumes they know what people want. This is the mistake of the 95% of failing businesses. They are launching products "hoping" people like it. Its a simple tool by surveys they could implement even with the help of their content creators. They would be able to find and build leagues that would be wanted. This post is to shed light on the tools successful and long enduring businesses employ. When you know what people want and provide the products, you grow in success. Heck I would volunteer to assist them should they want a better result then delays. Hope this helps. Cordially, 10+ year player Last bumped on Nov 9, 2024, 2:17:17 AM

I'll state the obvious again: have a short PTR for "new content" (including this thing we got today) so that obvious bugs or nuisances or balance issues can be (hopefully) fixed. Make it 1 week or something. To those who say "nah bro that will ruin the mystery of new content", that's better than getting punched in the face repeatedly by new "features" from content that hasn't been PUBLICLY tested.

This is still the best arpg on the market and there's not even any real competition.

" Entirely subjective and still doesn't excuse bad management. |

the interesting thing is, if you observe from a different angle.
when you zoom in to POE1, GGG is definitely not giving POE1 enough love that it deserves. There has been zero balance changes towards settlers for a very long time as tho they dont have resources to do anything about it. theyre quite comfortable with where its at. also i m pretty sure a lot of players are eager for a new league (i m actually happy for the extension). which is the norm for POE1. there isnt any real new league info for now. so if we're looking at it from a POE1 exclusive POV, yeah GGG is dropping the ball hard. but if look at it from a company POV where theyre in charge of 2 projects. POE1 being in a "stable state" vs a new ambitious project is having issues that requires more resources, they're forced to allocate more resources into the second project while the first project becomes stagnant. from a management POV its a good move. players who love POE1 will still play POE1. if they choose to quit. the company accepted the loss and will hope to recover them during the next league launch. GGG cannot afford to let POE2 flop. even if not everyone may like POE2, they want to make POE2 to be in its best state on EA. [Removed by Support]

" It is only debatable if you aren't an arpg fan. For instance if you like playing stuff like cod/fortnite where you just log in and everyone is normalized outside of skill. Then you may like some other arpg better like d4 since there is no depth or complexity. If your main game type is arpgs there is nothing even close. |

" why is this the important thing you feel like you should bring into the discussion? I mean I agree but imagine how good POE1 could be if they didn't just spend the last 3 years with (by their own words) only a maintenance crew on it while all hands were on deck on POE2. And now they're just like meh POE 1 will get a new update sometime like you know next year? I found that shocking personally. Like why kill the golden goose... make an Xmas league for POE1 its really quite stupid not to when they';ve been making leagues for 3 years with as little as IIRC they said; 7 developers on it. This doesn't look good. And anyone who loves POE1 and bounces off of POE2 will hypothetically have 3 years of past minimal effort plus whatever minimal effort next year brings being short changed on their main game. And yeah I'm saying short changed. design choices, ambition, scope and quality all are objectively short changed for people who may have thousands of dollars worth of supporter packs indicating their support for THIS GAME. Not saying I'll bounce off POE2 I can't in good faith make that call without playing it. But I already know I dislike Soul's likes because thats not what an ARPG is for me IMO. My dexterity/reaction times and pattern memorization are not EVER what I was gaming with in any ARPG until we got dogshit like Sirus and Maven. "only 10% of players care about melee" - Aesop's Fox if he was a GGG dev "when you die in this game, typically you're getting one shot, you're dieing in one frame; almost always" -Ben_ Last edited by alhazred70#2994 on Nov 7, 2024, 11:05:42 PM

Oh, right, you mean Isometric/top-down dungeon crawler. I keep forgetting some people also forget that ARPG is a much larger umbrella that emcompasses much better games such as Bloodborne, Witcher, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, Nier, Mass Effect...
Grim Dawn stills feels much more engaging and "role-playing" than PoE to me, but sure, "nothing even close", it's your opinion too after all. Still doesn't excuse bad management, though. Last edited by Z3RoNightMare#7140 on Nov 8, 2024, 11:19:04 AM
