PS5 New event, game freezes

Made a fresh Ranger in the SSF Settlers event league and the game keeps randomly freezing and I have to restart the game. Freezing as the picture is frozen, one time I had a short ambient sound loop too so the game seriously hangs. No bluescreen, no dc or getting thrown to the main menu. Game just hangs up.
I hope this can get fixed soonish.

<edit> by randomly I really mean at any point. First one was 2 minutes before the event begun when I was standing on the beach ready to go. Next one right after I selected my character in the menu. Last two happened during normal gameplay in the coast.

I haven't played much in the last month but looking at some other threads here this seems to be a widespread new issue for the PS5 client?? How is this not adressed or fixed over a month later? If this version isn't supported at the moment (all devs on PoE 2 now?), why even create the new event for it?

Im having the same issue. The freeze seems to happen randomly every 2-5 minutes.

Same here Ive been frozen and booted at least 5 times and Im trying to play HC. Literally just quit unplayable. And to boot GGG baited us by saying no difficulty changes but there are ruinic monsters in Tidal island

Have the same problem i thought i was ps5 pro issue i even froze in the main menu options and thrice just playing

I tried it again this morning in hope that it was somehow a server issue on the event start but it froze again after a few minutes. I'm now re-downloading the PS4 client in hopes that one is playable. It's a sorry state of affairs.
And again, it's not a connection related freeze that eventually resolves itself with the client catching up or a dc booting me back to the main menu. The game just hangs with an audio loop and never recovers or properly crashes so there are probably not even crash reports for this issue and maybe that's why this isn't really worked on. Still, these reports should be enough to get it properly looked at.

Game freezes on every zone! It's a miracle I could reach Brutus, I think I stop playing though I don't think there will be a fix anytime soon :(

Reinstalled the PS4 client and no freezes there so I guess I'll put up with the performance issues instead.

<edit> Performance isn't actually as bad as I remembered it, especially loading screens (though it's on my USB) and resource loading. Maybe they fixed stuff in the last few patches or a reinstall did it some good. Since the PS5 client had sound issues for me anyway, I'll just stick with the older client then.

Soo will this get fixed or I have to download ps4 version to be able to reach level 50?

The issue was acknowledged by GGG September 30th, so I wouldn't hold out hope that it will get fixed anytime soon.
