I'm thinking you click a button, you're given a prompt with the options of "Delete" or "Cancel" -- the focus on the prompt should default to "Cancel" to ensure there are no keystroke accidents.

No matter how many safeguards you build in people will still delete it and then ask for a restore because they deleted it by accident they were tired/drunk or didn't notice an item they wanted was in the stash. Really would be a headache for support. Surely hiding it is as good as deleting it?
