options not saving SOUND DEVICE changes

everytime i restart the game i have to reset the sound device to the correct one. every single time. it can't be more annoying. i don't know why it does not save it, but i change it to the correct one, click save, and the next time i run the game it's back to the default one. i just don't get it, but it's really annoying.
