Rework Kingsmarch's Atlas Runners

So far i've been having a blast with them as they would run the overflow of maps i drop, in exchange for a huge fee in my gold drops. I get a good little extra pay out of them by constantly feeing all 3 devices T16 20% quality corrupted maps, prioritizing shaper/elder/guardian influenced since they also drop me the fragments. If i could say, it averages me around one to two divines per hour, which is good enough for an almost passive income.

However, there is one MAJOR issue that i've found with that: You can't specialize into it further than this.

I did a test feeding 36 T17 maps to my atlas runners, with 100% deli and 20% quality. The results were VERY bad. invested about 56 divines, returned around 7d.

I would love to see a scenario where T17s were viable for my atlas runners with a hefty gold fee. It could create a new kind of farming strategy where you prioritize gold over loot, so your atlas runners do the rest.

I have a few solutions to this.

I noticed that even though i only got 7d in return, this was above average for 36 maps. The thing is, running T17s on these devices mean the areas average around 40% total completion, which means i get an absurdly lower amount of loot than if it would be 100%. Workers constantly dying is also an issue since it means all tasks are halted until i interact with Kingsmarch again.

What if there was a separate recruitment tab exclusive for warriors that want to join in the atlas running? Shipping could work with this and somehow bring warriors from far lands. Maybe put a 100k, 200k, 500k, 1M option to search for recruits on our next shipment. These could go beyond our 90 max workers since they are not from Kingsmarch directly.

Then, these special warriors could maybe have stats which we could increase by sending them to maps until they practice enough. Those stats could be:

Endurance: lowers chance of dying. Maybe it could drop to 0% on max level?

Strenght: increases completion rate on maps. a full set of maxed warriors could do 100% completion even on T17 maps.

Agility: Finishes the map faster. maybe a fully maxed team could lower the time by 40 or 50%? it's something to think about.

Then at last, we could also have a "worker queue" that, whoever is put into it, will start running maps in the place of fallen workers, so our atlas running is not interrupted by casualties.

I see a lot of untapped potential in those atlas runners, i hope GGG can bring them to their full glory. VERY late in the league, i know, but it doesn't hurt to try.

me trying to fully upgrade kingsmarch, the atlas runners a luxury thing which comes at the very last.

maybe it's wrong but mine never had a positive return on investment. the time and gold you have to invest into making them worthwhile is only worth it if you have no other stuff to put your gold into.
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

exactly. i've reached a point where i got all rank 10 workers already with a maxed out city. i'm at the point where i easily farm 50 to 100k gold per map and they take about 5 to 10 minutes each. there is not really a use for all that gold besides atlas runners and the trade market, which i already barely use and when i do it takes a minimum amount of gold to do so.

Once you reach this point there is no reason to even use Kingsmarch at all, except once every 4 to 5 days to do a 50M shipment. Runners are not rewarding enough to invest 70k+ gold per hour in them along with the time to roll all maps.
Im just gonna finish challange with them and drop it.

I dont see point of sustaining atlas runnes futher more.

Will use ships tho.

Atlas runners are a scam imo, the best things I got while doing their challenge was some divine orbs and valdo puzzle boxes, which I also get from arcanist boxes in normal t16 maps anyways. The insane amount of gold required just isn't worth it when you can just leave your rank 10 farmers on in your town for 4-5 days+some dust from uniques and do 50 mil crop shipments for some mirror shards and either good tattoos or power runes and a big stack of divines. I got to 200 divines from 3 of those shipments after having spent all my currency beforehand.

Youre missing the OP's point
“Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”

Bold move trying to Deli the T17's. Even just plain ones have bad results. IMO the only reason to feed T17's into the device is if you have corrupted ones you cant run.

I dont like the idea of having to do special gearing or specialization for the mappers. Prepping maps, filling up the duster, sending shipments, we already have enough to do in town to keep it all running.

Alternative suggestion, Mappers gaining experience. Mappers should level up the more maps they run, just like we do. If a level 9 mapper makes i through enough maps without dying, he should be level 10. For your point, leave level 10 max recruitable, butallow them to go up to lvl15 from experience.
