Betware being blinded by retention metrics.
The idle game stuff has been a mild amusement over the past month. I log in, do some crap, shove my gold at what's-his-face, and don't care if I run out before my next play session. I'm not as susceptible to FOMO as some might be though, so I can totally see some people getting really burned out on farming gold and that might make them take a break from next league. Something they should consider if looking at league retention and similar metrics.
Dangling goodies to entice players to regularly log in gives short term engagement and long term burnout; just look at WoW over the past decade and a half. It was fine for one league, but don't do realtime based mechanics again. Украина в моём сердце Last bumped on Sep 17, 2024, 12:04:16 AM
