Signal Prey should be a Skill inherent to Minion Gems, just like Call of Steel for Steel Skills

Signal Prey, found on Predator Support, does nothing except provide a target command. The actual bonus damage is provided by Predator itself and not Signal Prey. It's 2024, there's no reason to have this tied to a single gem.

It would still work the way it does now, because you would just have multiple copies of Signal Prey when more than 1 Minion gem is socketed, but you could just add the one you actually need. The bonus damage still requires you to add Predator Support to a Minion. Functionally, there'd be no change.

Grim Dawn did this already back in 2016, with an attack command for pets (Minions) you could add to your skill bar willy-nilly.

I'm particularly annoyed by this problem when using Predator Support in Dancing Dervish builds for example, where the gem sockets get disabled when they are summoned, which then removes Signal Prey from my skill bar. This means that I need to sacrifice an extra gem socket just to get the Signal Prey skill, on a build that is already running out of sockets the moment you equip the sword. And one can't really afford to not use it because its functionality in this particular use case is practically mandatory, even after the swords' AI change.

Can we - pretty please and with a cherry on top - get this sorted in a future patch?

Thank you so much! I think a lot of us would appreciate it, but especially me!

They've spent a great deal of effort stealth-nerfing minions, leaving the changes undocumented. As much as I would love this kind of buff, I fear that it won't happen. They are unusually obstinate when it comes to minions. I just hope that they prove me wrong.
I think the balance of minions probably has something to do with the fact of it being an archetype that can just run circles and dodge while your minions do all the work.

How do you mean? Are you referring to Autoexertion?

Corpsewalker nerfs ( used to have 40% inc damage if you consumed a corpse recently), changes to call to arms (losing an entire support spot making impale very hard to utilize), divergent shield crush(ton of crit multi) and pulverise (20-40% more damage i forget which it was) getting deleted.

I like being able to have it only on some minions/supports.

Alterantives would be great whatever that looks like, Just having a "move here" keybind would be enough in many cases.

If it were to be implemented the way I suggested, it would change nothing for you. You could just remove it from your skill bar. The Minions don't do anything unless you use it. It's not Feeding Frenzy.

As long as its as you say that could be nice then, I still think "move here" would do wonders for most minions it might even work well with meatshield unless the radius is bound to the player character.

Whatever gets the job done.

That already exists. Most, if not all, Minions will walk where your cursor goes if you use default attack or cast a spell. It's something that has both positives and negatives. I personally don't like it and would rather have Signal Prey as an option.

signal prey and convocation should both be free skills you get if you have ANY minion they could be applied to equipped

It is frankly ridiculous that these two mechanics are gated by gem pressure on a build archetype infamous for its gem pressure.

Plus what business does convocation even have being a skill gem? Does anyone actually care about leveling it or its quality?

Even that stupid mod they put in to dilute bone shield rolling is at level one

What a joke.
