Idea/Suggestion on How to Add Gender Options for the Player Character to the Shop
As the title says, I thought about how GGG could add different genders for the player characters to the shop and came up with a solution:
Use existing class models as alternates for the other classes, changing their appearance slightly, i.e. change their skin color, hair color, clothes, add tattoos, change their height slightly... Shadow -> Witch Marauder-> Ranger (make her taller and Mao...um, Karui, obviously) Duelist -> Scion Templar-> Scion Scion-> Duelist Witch-> Shadow Ranger-> Duelist/Shadow The female Duelist could have dark hair instead of the Scion blonde, for example. Now, depending on how deep they'd want to go with the conversion, the cost would vary. -The animations are all there, since everybody can use everything in PoE. -The voice lines/ sound effects are tricky. Either they'd have to be re-recorded, or the existing ones could be used (i.e. use Shadow voice lines/sound effects for the male Witch) -Class/Ascendancy art could be redone, or left as is. -The mechanism of applying the skins could be tricky, because it's not just an overlay like the other MTX, but a somewhat fundemental change. They could sell it per character, to justify the cost. I.e. This leage I'm playing a female Templar, I pay 20$ to make one. If I want to do the same next league, I have to dish out another 20. Or they could make it 50-60 bucks or whatever and make it a permanent account thing. Pay 350 bucks and make PoE gender-unloked! All of this might be easier to do for PoE2, but it would be nice to have the option for PoE1, if they decide to do it for PoE2 at some point. Avert thy gaze, child! the lack of marauder on the right side of your conversion table is a bit concerning....
