Gender Change for Classes POE2 and 1

my best guess is GGG wants to make their classes have more class identity so that players can form bonds with characters.

this is something apparent in games like d3/d4. if you see someone cosplay, due to the class locked gear/cosmetic, you can immediately know what class they are cosplaying. however it wont work in POE as gear and mtx are not class locked.

tbh i hate locked models etc as i always imagine my character as a digital avatar of myself. i dislike playing as a woman or as a named character

Me too. I rarely play a woman char in games. I atleast I think I am the char I am playing.

So POE I haven't played the female classes. I may have one witch on my account but that was my daughter playing.

I'm completely unable to understand why everyone is so obsessed with genders these days. If a game is fun, I don't care in the char is male, female, an attack helicopter or a goddamn squirrel.

look. to some people vidya games is a past time hobby. to some vidya games is a complete waste of time.

most of the people my age show a sour face if they know i game.

they do not understand the fun of it.

but whats the harm in liking something?

i dont like foot ball, nor fishing but i can understand why people like those hobbies. its a matter of preference.

would i still play poe2 regardless of whether gender options are available? hell yeah! would i still prefer if gender options are available? i most definitely prefer it and appreciate it.

simply saying you dont understand as a badge of honour really has no value.

I do want gender swapped versions of the characters and may even pay money for them.

Those who identify as male and won't play female characters must really empathize with all the women and nonbinary people who are forced to play as men in 90% of games. Or similarly with any other number of traits that aren't considered "normal".

Options are good and the more the better.

I posted a bunch of threads on this topic over the years, It was about Immersion and making the game more attractive to a wider audience.

It should not surprise anyone that they would enjoy an experience more if they are more able to relate to their character in whatever way it is that they do.

There have been many others and i can say having read most of them that most are asking for deeper immersion though if you are in a position where you are under-represented in videogames i know that it can wear on you.

I'd rather try and fail than not have tried.
