Game stuck on loading screen

Hi team,

I can't seem to load into the game. I can log in just fine, but when I double click on a character to get into the game, it seems to just get stuck on the loading screen.

I have tried delete and reinstall game but that didn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

I've had a similar issue in the last couple of days where the game goes unresponsive (Path of Exile not responding) while trying to load into town, right after the character selection screen, or sometimes switch between zones.

A quick look through the forums suggests a lot of others are having similar issues: freezes, crashes, long loading times, etc.

I don't know if there is a solid fix for any of it, but I did want to mention that last night I went into my settings on the character selection screen, and I changed the renderer from Direct11 to Direct12. I had seen this suggested in some threads.

I was then able to log in fine, and play smoothly. A few zones, including a Vaal area and Kingsmarch, loaded up with no issue. I played for probably about 45 minutes before I had to log off due to time constraints, but had no issues while I was playing.

Thanks for that. I have tried the suggestion and it seemed to have worked. I've only played for about 30 minutes but at least it loads in now.

it work on me too, thanks. since change to DX12, I had played for 3 hours, without any loading screen issue. hope this DX12 setting solve the problem.
