i5 13600k vs AMD 7800x3d What should I use to have the best performance for Path of Exile
Basically, I'm planning to buy an AMD 7800x3d to replace my current i5 13600k.
I don't know if this is an upgrade so I want to ask you guys because I mainly play Path of Exile and not other games. either will run the game fine. Its more about your GPU than your CPU. You should do some research on YouTube.
For what its worth AMD 7800X3D is an extremely good CPU. It's what I am putting on my build I have started. |

" isn't it the other way around. That this game is CPU heavy, not GPU? either way, i'd go for 7800x3d if your motherboard can use AMD CPU's I dont know too much about intel's cpu's, even tho im using a 13400f. just make sure your MB can run both amd chipset if you choose amd Wicked-Vortex Last edited by Raxanto on Sep 6, 2024, 11:52:04 AM

It would be odd if it was CPU heavy. GPU's are designed to have the load taken off the CPU and put to the GPU. I am new to the whole PC thing but I have been doing a ton of research in this as I am currently gearing up to build my PC.
AMD and Intel CPU have completely different pin config so you will need to choose what CPU you want and if you are not changing the Motherboard then you will need to pick what chipset you already have. Beyond that you will need to know what platform your chip is in AMD3/4/5 and IDK the generations for Intel but you can Google that. If you are building a PC. AMD chips are best bang for your buck and the 7800X3D is probably the best bang for buck out there right now for AMD5. They are a bit hard to get here and there but PCpartspicker is a great resource as is youtube. I highly suggest you at least do that bare minimum. Cheers and good luck with your choice. |

" Welcome to Path of Exile. It is CPU-heavy. Your CPU will be the bottleneck for playing PoE. PoE was built from scratch by GGG, including the game engine. It is improving over time, but not quite there yet. 😹😹😹😹😹
I do not and will not use TFT. Gaming Granny :D 🐢🐢🐢🪲🪲🪲 | |
Did everyone here miss the fact that he already has the 13600k? A 7800X3D is a comparable CPU, not an upgrade.
OP: Don't. | |
" Yes, PoE is infamous for being CPU-heavy rather than GPU-heavy (Many people before me tested). Thats why i ask this :D " I mean the cost to change isn't much tbh (because the seller will buy the old 13600k and replace it). Thats why i asked between 13600k and 7800x3d. What should i use if i play mainly PoE. A casual PoE guy with some virtual achievement:
