unexplained network lag in game - last 2 days

Since sometime on the weekend I've noticed considerable network lag in game. I'm on the australian realm. The logs say 63ms (which is within normal range), the commandline ping says 48ms (also normal range), the ingame F1 says 147ms (something wrong here).

Any ideas? - I use the steam client.
