'Golden Character Effect' MTX No Longer Working

I'm on console (Xbox Series X) and I purchased the 'Golden Character Effect' this league. It was working fine until the latest patch it seems. Is it common for MTX to bug out and stop working or give you different behaviour all of a sudden?

This is my first time investing into MTX so I'm a little put off now if this is a common occurance. I'm spending money and would expect the things I purchase to be prioritized and work.

Anyone else dealt with anything like this before? Is there a way to have GGG look at this issue outside of posting here? Can you ask for a refund in these situations?
