Thinking outside the box

First of all excuse my bad english since i am not a native speaker. I hope my thoughts can be understood though.

This is just a little mental exercise concerning combatting rmt in a free-to-play game.

Lets assume that:
- a company is interested in their game not being flagged p2w since this paints a huge risk
- a player base is interested in a healthy econ without rmt'ing to keep it fair
- a company cannot install counter-measures on their comunities pc's due to legal issues and certificate madness
- developers, po's and designers are not stupid and know their game/product
- it is possible to "flag" currency dropped under certain circumstances, like maps or scarabs used

Goals:
- get valuable intelligence giving insights into the real rmt-situation
- find the big players involved that are hurting the community without big backlashes and collateral damage
- get insight into the trade-economy in general as a benefit
- be ahead of the rmt-scum

A test-scenario in this case is not that easy to set up and involves some risks but here is "my" idea on how it could be done without too big of an impact.

1) Create a scenario that attracts players to abuse hard and give em the chance to really overdo it by printing multiple mirrors per hour in a short period of time.
2) Create a technical solution to "flag" said currency and make it easily traceable in transaction logs.
3) Have a budget ready to buy currency from d2jsp for example.
4) Let your data-analysts have a good time creating the wanted insights.

Id imagine that a setup like this would lead to some really interesting results. What do you think - would this be realistically doable? Where are my thoughts completely off and i am a victim of my falsy logic.

Best drops to all of you
