Verisium Ore needed for upgrades, but being auto-smelted into bars halts progress

Need some way of saying to not touch an amount of ore or to not auto-smelt it.

what happens if no one is assigned to smelting verisium?
POE2 should be the ruthless vision experience and POE1 should be the zoom power fantasy sandbox to capture both audiences.
I petition to return all the fun stuff that was removed or nerfed over the years back into POE1.
Smelting information > manage workers (middle top button) > unassign (or change to a different ore type) cheers.

classic GGG UI things, they are a bunch of good dudes trying hard but damn they could use a UI expert.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

To all saying to unassign smelter from verisium.

Smelters assigned to any bar WILL smelt ANY other bar! As their assignment is only a PRIORITY!

To prevent loosing your precious verisium ore you need to stop ALL smelting activity.

And this needs to change, please, make it a checkbox, an upgrade, change how assignment works, I don't care HOW. But PLEASE let us prevent certain ores from smelting!

EDIT: To expand on my point - this makes smelting an Active(!) activity, which means, let it run while you play, but check on it between map runs and turn it off overnight, which defeats the idle / automation part of it.

rush your important buildings to max and forget about smelting being a thing while you do so.
Not a big lose in the end as you get most of your juice out of your crops and not the metals unless you play ssf and hunt for something specific, but even in this case you could bypass the struggles by just rushing the important buildings.

Another option would be to just assign low level smelter to your important ores as they will be too busy with their assigned task and never touch other ores at all.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
The current design is the complete antithesis of the league mechanic. Players are simply punished for leaving their smelters working over night.
+1
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

Its this guys it isn't as easy as unassign the other smelters you have to either have them all so busy they won't process other shit or straight unassign all of them and let ore pile up while you try to get enough raw verisium to do upgrades.

I did the latter today and have found verisium exactly once in the entire day lmao so i've cucked my progress for nothing i'm hoping they patch this one to accept bars.
