New To Game: How Does This Juggernaut Look?
Online Passive Tree
EDIT: After playing some more and learning that axes require dexterity, I have committed to The Way of the Hammer Current Plan: The Passive Tree -1 Point from deal with bandit +15% Elemental Resistances Big Tank focus. UPDATE: Decided to remove all magic. Got rid of Ground Slam & Crushing Fist & Magma Shell. Added Immortal Call, Vengeful Cry, Steelskin, Intimidating Cry, still have Enduring Cry. Heavy Strike, Sweep, and Leap Slam are the attack skills besides regular strikes. Still have Berserk, Pride Aura with Eternal Blessing, and Vitality Aura. Not sure how to integrate Berserk as I don't get much rage but probably with Ruthless support double damage third strike & Vengeful Cry double damage for 2 strikes. Will get Tenacity anointment Will get Persistence anointment Will get Anointed Flesh anointment I am not sure what the mechanics for anointing are. Am considering Last Rites and getting some curses, maybe raising my IQ by some points so I can use Curses. Would use Passive Tree intelligence node +30 so it's part of my character rather than on gear. PUNISHMENT - Nimble bee, Nimble die I already lower enemies' regen 50% that are nearby, and can't get life leached, thanks to the passives tree. I don't know what PvP arenas do to these completely bombastic Mechanic-Shutdown Passives but I hope it transfers over in a competitively viable way. Affecting the Hexproof; please I just wanna talk to her switch to 1h with Chainhook gem & Awakened Hextouch Support gem, and some easy-to-hit stuff that perhaps affects movement speed (along with shield) to close in on nimble opponents -- attack speed & movement speed on this Second Set should help. Solid Item? Especially PvP: Bramblejack 0 Reflected Damage -- NO STOPS: Attack Mastery and This Essence of Insanity on a Ring Shield Breaker -- Support Gem for Cracking Walls ITEMS OF GREAT AND TERRIFYING POWER Pillar of the Caged God unique weapon seems to support the highest damage in the game. Every point of added damage along with base Marauder & Weapon damage is increased by 1600% at 1000 Strength. Understandably every strength modifier may compete with a physical damage or defensive modifier; but it shouldn't be too difficult to balance or profit from. Boneshatter of Complex Trauma seems pretty good for this item. I think every point of damage gets increased so that should mean that Pillar of the Caged God is the best item for Boneshatter. I don't feel like focusing on numbers but increasing Strength and getting extra damage out of Strength is just the way to go. Second Set shield & attack speed hammer with Chain Hook, Glacial Hammer with Rage & Multistrike for the attack speed gains, attack speed mods, and the minimum rage +8 anoint should make for a good gap closing kit. UPDATE: Maybe this passive tree is better: PASSIVE TREE I could put in this jewel: GLORIOUS VANITY for DIVINE FLESH -- taking over the Retaliation Keystone Then take probably 25% reduced damage from elemental & chaos both overall. The accuracy passives early on are unnecessary since I'm going for No Crits/Unevadeable "Resolute Technique"
New Version |
|
Moving some retaliation cooldown, fortification gain, a life/armor node in the beginning, and a strength point to Attack Mastery for range & damage + speed.
Melee caster is not true brute gameplay |

I Think It's Done:
Two Handed Axe Retaliate & Impale build with Life Leech; Quite Tanky, bypasses physical resistances Keystones: Resolute Technique (no crits, always hit) Arsenal of Vengeance (Retaliate after taking 6 hits) The Impaler (AoE impales, 5 more impales, can't re-impale or recall for 5 secs) |
|
Realized that mana costs are super low later in game for marauder so got Blood Magic and the 25% Max Leech Rage Mastery instead of Mana Cost Cuts.

Level 54, about the same gear as level 48. Got to Part 2 at Level 50. Armor increases when standing still in combat zones. Might replace that with something else but I hit 90% phys reduction so maybe not. Molten Shell so nothing phys hurts, only hurt by elemental definitely chaos damage can hurt especially after the Kitava debuff NOT before. 5500 to 8800 damage with Heavy Strike + 91% every third Ruthless Strike gem and chance to double damage at 36% which is innate to Heavy Strike, I have the Melee Phys Dmg support gem which is +41% and -10% attack speed. Big Mace Splash, reach, and got the "5% Attack Speed per enemy in Close Range" on the Attack Mastery Passive. Can't be stunned thanks to Unwavering Stance, Can't miss thanks to Resolute Technique. No skills or gear that require Intelligence or Dexterity. Pride Aura for lots of damage, "Eternal Blessing Skill" Support Gem to get around health reservation because I have Blood Magic. Vitality Aura for regen. Only reserves 132 life or something. Regenerates 103 per second. Leaping around has been effective. I put Bleed support gem on it. Makes sense I guess. Sweep has been useful but I use Ground Slam too which causes a cone of stone spikes. Not sure what support gem to put on Sweep, put "Bloodthirst" support so I start doing massive damage when I get low. Last resort STORM OF MACE. Won't be that good until I get some Life Leech. Enduring Cry for some regen and endurance has been fine I guess, the regen seems to happen if I use it near an enemy no matter what but not sure haven't scrutinized it carefully yet. More Reckoning skills soon but I want to see some other kinds of Reckonings besides CAST FIST to see if it rounds out the kit. Last edited by Dylan_Schreiner on Aug 2, 2024, 8:51:15 AM

Skill Tree Level 54 Unbreakable Melee Splash is in the Attack Mastery big node at the bottom. This is affected by AoE modifiers, hence I am inclined to make my AoE Bigger. Stronger. More Overwhelming. It already splashes pretty far. Thoughts of locking fast stuff down and escaping lock downs myself are at the top of my M i n d.
