Game unresponsive after clicking 'Exit to character Selection'

This video above shows exactly what is happening
For a brief summary: when clicking 'Exit to character Selection', it leaves me inside the game and doesn't allow me to move anymore more after a second or so, and won't let me do anything, If I open up settings it is non-interactable, MTX tab is just loading, and the only way to resolve this that I have found is to exit path of exile. If anyone knows of a solution or what is causing this error please let me know! thanks

This has been reported several times before, but I never saw any action taken by GGG.
