I've never played WOW. This release reminds me of mobile games with idling mechanics to keep you coming back to harvest/ship/receive/build/etc.

I guess it's hard to say until we play it though.

The Warlords Garrison is very similar in ideals, you'd do quests and get resources to build structures, each one doing a different thing for you out in the world (generate more resources, provide NPC allies to help you quest, be a bank, etc), and every day you'd get simple quests inside, and there'd be resources you could gather to profit from. Aside from this you'd collect soldiers and named NPC's who'd come join you, which you'd send out on their own quests that you'd manage that would take 5 to 20 hours for them to finish, succeeding or failing based on dicerolls and matching skills, bringing back stuff (equippables, resources, etc).

This feels very similar, which I'm stoked for, the Garrison was a part of WoD I enjoyed (to a degree), but with some added depth to it, of all the leagues in recent memory this looks like it has the most going on, and I hope that's true, I really hope this is a really built up thing, because it sounds rad. Of course, there's a danger it's just tedious FOMO stuff (Okay, maps are running, set an alarm for 5 hours so I don't miss any maps!), only time will tell. I imagine the goal is 'start of the day, set up town stuff, then run maps, reset town stuff before logging off'. But players often find ways to ruin the fun.

mission tables were tedious yeah (kind of sending NPC to run maps for you in poe)

but the naval mission table was allright. good rewards on a pretty decent timer. and a chance your ships will fail and perma rip

people critiqued garrison in wow cause you basically sit there whole expansion

i dont want this in poe. we allready have TOTA league where i barelly did any achievements outside this zone lmao

I guess that's viable if you're a student, or unemployed, or generally don't have to do stuff and leave before 8am for work...

OK, I've known for a long while I'm not the target market. But I don't enjoy chores in game as well as real life.

Yeah I hated WoD/Garrisons.

I look forward to this league.
