Where are the naysayers?
Where are the naysayers?
What are the howlers doing right now? Whenever people on Reddit and here in the forums asked for an auction house, even if it was just for currency, these people crawled out of their holes: "Oh no, that's impossible, that will never happen, do you know what resources would be needed for that, stop asking." Where are you? What has your pessimism brought? So it's never going to happen, which is why people should stop talking about it? Thanks to the whole GGG Team Last bumped on Jul 19, 2024, 11:57:28 AM

Mark said that it's an experimental feature, so while excited I'm also still extremely skeptical and expect it being take away from us next season, after people/botters will find ways to abuse it and ruin the economy through it. Don't come crying when currency loses its value and everything starts costing 10x more.

I say, "nay," to talking out one's ass.
But the changes look good on the whole. Melee will be good though you will have to use certain mechanisms but I guess that's always been the league-dependent case. |

hoho so much for GGG putting all its power into poe 2 and neglecting poe 1.

" I don't think anyone ever has claimed that it's impossible. I think it's OK to test the waters and see if there is room for a currency AH. The most exciting thing here, is IF GGG decides that they won't add it to the core game :D That said, I don't think THAT many people have been opposed to an AH solution for currency only. For items, on the other hand... Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. " If you listened, their intention is to fully include all tradeable items, but they wanted to test it out with currency first. I dont know what else to say, but an AH is coming. Also I think it was news that they indicated PoE2 has this designed already. I haven't heard that before. While I'm honestly shocked at this 180 from Mark on the traditional trade view CW had, it's very clear to me now that an AH is coming, and the worst parts of trade and trade friction will be gone. Congratulations to POE achieving in 2024 what D3 had on release in 2012. Maybe next we can get gamma (brightness) correction?

All the people who were screaming their fool heads off about trade friction will now commence screaming their fool heads off about gold. The implementation of which was mandatory for asynchronous trade, and which nobody thought was a serious possibility in Path the First given the "community's" overwhelmingly toxic reaction to the reveal of gold in Path the Second. Never mind the variety of perfectly legitimate reasons they've given us for implementing gold in Path 2, people are still gonna scream about it.
Also worth mentioning that there's a difference between asking Grinding Gear to revise their otherwise longstanding stance on trade (which, in fact, they have not - they've just changed where the friction in the system comes from, not given up and adopted frictionless trade) based on new information, and the endless awful petulant whiny nagging people kept throwing up about 100% fully automated utterly frictionless free trade forever. | |
