Permanent Unlock Atlas Tree on Standard
|
Good morning!
In the Standard League, what do I need to achieve to unlock the Atlas Tree so that when I reset with the new leagues I get the entire Tree back by playing the higher tier old maps on it? Thank you very much! Last bumped on May 18, 2024, 2:15:21 PM

Run a rare corrupted t16 map from the previous league to unlock all maps (except the top 4 ones)

The Atlas map in Standard is never permanent--except completions of unique maps, maven invites, and quests, I think.
If you have a map stash tab, don't convert all of your maps to the new map series immediately. The shortcut to refilling the Atlas to completing the map bonus objective on a map from a legacy map series. For example: Clearing a magic or rare t5 map will autocomplete map tiers 1-4. Clearing a rare T8 map will autocomplete map tiers 1-7. Clearing a corrupted rare T16 map will autocomplete map tiers 1-15. |

As above. System need to be improved in my opinion. Clunky and unintuitive for new players needing to save multiple legacy maps to improve chance of not corrupting map to an unlucky and loosing large amounts of progression in a permanent league. Particularly bad for SSF and Ruthless players.

" The trick is do the map corrupting before the league ends. Though I agree that new players would not immediately be aware of the mechanic. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.

" You don't need to save map....players always have leftover map from previous league, unless you already run out of map during temp league. But did you run out currency also? SSF is another story, it is a torture mode that those players should already aware This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. Yep.
In ruthless this is a disaster, there is also no way for incoming or even experienced players who aren't experienced in the base league to be aware that they need to prepare ahead of time for this niche mechanic or loose progression. After playing about 10 leagues and never going to the base league, I decided to play the ruthless launch, got full completion on my atlas, but didn't know to prepare for this mechanic, running most of my high level maps dry intentionally to get the progression. The legacy maps I had left over I tried to corrupt after the progression removal from patching of the upcoming league, but they bricked, meaning I lost most of my red map progression on a vaal coin flip. 50 vaal/ kirac missions is a lot to make up in non trade modes, let alone in ruthless. There was no way for me to know this playing the game, other than by reading every set of patch notes, which I either didn't play the league when this was implemented or didn't register since it wasn't important for league play at the time. The last time I played base league before this I don't think the atlas even existed. Ruthless is dead on trade so I had to run them again to get the progression back even though it's a permanent league. SSF doesn't even have this option so If you don't know about you loose everything instantly. I Understand that this it not a problem in trade leagues, but its still a very sketchy mechanic that has been Band-Aided on and doesn't fit the polish of the rest of the game. Doesn't make sense to give full atlas progression to someone buying a map off trade either. Invalidates the point of playing the game when you can just skip a bunch of the game by trade purchase.
