Axe Mastery and Hinekoras Death Fury

hey, just wated to ask if in title mentioned things interact with each other or if they cancel each other out, axe mastery is enemys are destroyed on kill and hinekoras is the chieftain explo noteable that well... works when the enemy is killed, asking because i discovered the joy of ruthless and making my own stuff as i get along, but respecing is expensive so i rather ask first before i spend my points
