Is there any way to cancel the Blood Altar

I was attempting to use the Blood Altar to craft an item using specific beasts.
The status is I put beast into slot and can review the recipes, but don't click craft yet.
Is there any way to cancel the process?

The beast will not be used until you click craft and spawn the even, if you click on another recipe it will change, and you can still remove or change the item. You can also swap the individual beast you have by clicking on them and choosing another valid beast. Does this answer your question?
