Polaric Invitation boss Black Star disappearing after dying once

I died to The Black Star Boss on my first portal and after reentering he does not spawn nor is he stuck somewhere. He is just gone.

Its not the quest fight, rather the normal 83 invitation fight.

Quitting and relogging does not help. Tried all portals to no avail.
