MARAUDER CYCLONE BUILD (2-handed) - 1º CHAR - Help with the build.
So, its my first time playing poe and i dont know much about the game. i looked on youtube and forums for any marrauder clycone build, but they either were outdated or too difficult for a noob like me. I could just do boneshater or righteus fire but man, if you go for a strength char like a marauder you want it to hit like a bulldozer with his 2 handed axe spining like crazy, not a [Removed by Support] with a shild and a sword or a staff, you want a muscle brain.
Because of that i did my build myself, a pure physichall, bleed and impale build. What i want is: Advice, basically. I would like you guys to see my build and tell what do you think, what do I need to improve and if the build is not viable, I recommend a viable one. Thanks in advance Here's the build link: https://poeplanner.com/b/ikb Last edited by Timothy_GGG#0000 on Feb 5, 2024, 7:41:51 PM Last bumped on Feb 6, 2024, 11:49:27 AM

Welcome to PoE o/
I hate to be the guy but I guess someone has to do it: This isnt a functional build - sorry. Not in PoE. 1. You wont reach lvl100. Dont plan for it, wont happen. Aim for lvl90-95, thats plenty ambitious but much more realistic. 2. Dont grab jewel sockets for more than 2 points. Thats almost never worth the investment. 3. Melee builds usually shoot for something like 150-200% increased life, massive amounts of armour and leech or any other sort of dmg avoidance/mitigation/recovery. Otherwise you wont survive and whenever you die, you will lose 10% of your current XP, which is why you wont hit lvl100. 4. Dont try to add too many different things to a build. Focus on one thing and go all in or go home. For instance bleed cannot stack by default, unless you grab the "Crimson Dance" keystone, which is why bleed is not a great choice for a fast hitting skill like cyclone. If you want to build around bleed, pick a skill that hits extremely hard and has a bleed/ailment dmg multiplier like Earthquake to apply a massive bleed, which will result in a sort of "Hit & Run" playstyle. If you want to go for Crimson Dance, feel free to do so but be warned that you will have to hit the target constantly or your bleed stacks will fall off and melee has a really hard time doing just that, especially when it comes to bossing. The dps windows are limited. Im not a melee guy and cant recommend all that many beginnerfriendly builds other than Boneshatter Jugg and Splitting Steel Champ. Both are fairly easy to play, deal solid dmg and most importantly are tanky enough to allow a beginner to survive long enough, so you have a at least a shot at learning what you are supposed to do and what you have to avoid at all costs. PoE is a very unforgiving and brutal game. It wont hold your hand, it wont explain anything. Instead it will murder you in the face - without warning. Prepare for a bumpy ride. It wont be easy and you will die - a lot :) Enjoy the journey, it takes time to learn the game. Doesnt matter if you played other aRPGs before and think you know what you are doing. In this game you are Jon Snow and you know nothing. Embrace it, act accordingly and adapt or die. |

" I agree with everything except this. Jewels are incredibly powerful because they can have four good mods (that can be expensive but 3 is easily achievable), and also there are lots of very powerful unique jewels. In my opinion, a 2-point jewel socket is an instant-take, no-brainer. A 3-point is still worth considering, and in many cases can offer more power than putting those points elsewhere. |

True, if you know what you are looking for because you know how to scale your build and how to get those mods on a jewel.
All of which is not very likely, if you are a beginner. |

" This is VERY rarely true until the end of your build...jewels have HUGE variance and it is exceptionally unlikely you are going to have jewels with 3 useful mods, let alone 4 before you actively seek them out. Before that time, even 2-point jewel slots are a waste of passive points. Jewels should almost entirely be avoided by new players until they are in the 90s. It is just so much more likely they will see more usage out of the average passive point than the average wild jewel. There is a reason why basically every build guide saves jewel slots for LAST when you are leveling. Last edited by jsuslak313#7615 on Feb 6, 2024, 7:18:36 AM

I kinda of guessed that the build would not be that good, but still, i wanted to play the game in my on way, learn about the game while having fun, and that's what is happening. By the time you wrote this anwser, i had already alocated all my 55 passive skill point (i'm lvl 50 right now). I know i will problable have to reset my skill tree with orbs of regret (No, i won't create another char(well, at least not for now))
But that is something for the future me, for now all i want to do is play the game and have fun. I will keep in mind what you said if i need to change the build in the future. Thank you for helping me. " |
