Nimis and Molten Strike in PoB

I just was somewhat shocked to see that a circle of Nostalgia outclassed Nimis by 14% for DPS.
That would be huge for my build not just for damage.
I could wear different boots and get rid of the forbidden flesh combo.

Do i need to click something in the configs to get the returning projectiles (10) correctly calculated?

POB can't show Nimis effect. Best thing you can do is use full dps calculation and manually adjust the number of projectiles there based on your estimate of how many balls will hit.

Im terribble at math.

Assuming 60% of projectiles hit:
full poison dps/242*(242*0,6)*2 = 213,800 full poison dps
Is that correct?

Uh....are you a Molten Strike build or a HoA build?

As far as I'm aware, HoA does NOT interact with Nimis. And if that is your main dps, I wouldn't be using nimis (or molten strike for that matter....).

But totally separate from build questions:

It is really hard to calculate nimis: however it is safe to assume that for MOST builds it works out to being a MASSIVE dps boost (somewhere between 1.5x to 2x damage). For overlapping areas like Molten Strike balls, this can be even higher. But the random direction means there is variance that is nearly impossible to accurately calculate. But if even a single extra ball hits an enemy on return...thats 2x damage right there.


*Ed: okay looked at your build...its a poison molten strike build. I have never seen taht before! I can't even begin to try calculating what nimis is doing for you....except that it IS multiple orders of magnitude better than nostalgia. 59% increased buff effect = 6% more poison damage. Nimis = likely 100% or more. Even a low estimate would yield WAY more than 6% more damage.

PoB has unsettled me so often and I don't understand some things that have to do with numbers anyway.

Basically, except with mirror rings and charge builds....nimis is BiS for ALL projectile skills. Both for clear and for damage.
