What's the Point of Elder?

Like, just the regular fight. Yeah, you get the tokens that let you into Uber Elder but it doesn't seem to do anything else on its own or is it really seemingly part for the 'fight for the Atlas'... it's not part of any league challenges and for some reason it's not even part of 'The Elder' quest.
Also, what's up with that? Why do you get a quest to fight Uber Elder? Especially with the current narrative it really makes no sense. I didn't even do anything Elder related to get it, I just suddenly had the quest at some point after killing one of the Eater of Worlds. Similarly, Kirac still has dialogue for Zana even though she's been poofed out of existence, same with Tane. I think you still see Zana if you go fight Sirus though? Uber Elder is the "real" Elder fight, where the Elder is actually killed for good. It's an important part of the backstory for the current endgame, which is why it's how you get the 4th voidstone.
As for what the point is... what's the point of regular Atziri? Not everyone who reaches endgame has been playing since War for the Atlas, and learning the mechanics of the Elder while dodging Shaper beams and balls would be nearly impossible. That's literally the entire reason for the Uber Elder fight being gated behind both the Shaper and Elder fights: new players are first taught the bosses separately. |

" I sure hope not. UnID Watcher's Eyes are still good money if you don't want to gamble which still makes Elder miles better to farm than Shaper ever will be. Bossing build players already lost Metamorph, they don't need even less things to farm. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish. |
