High CPU Usage/Spikes

Hey guys,

after a few months of not playing we came back for affliction league. For me everything seems as it was, but my friend can't play the game anymore.

He has very high CPU usage and it spikes every few seconds so the game can't even keep the 60 fps anymore, which it always did just fine. And that's with like 2 monsters on the screen in the starting zone. In the city the computer also starts to get really loud and the shader bar never ever seems to go down.

Can someone help please?

Things we tried already:

Fresh Install of the game
Trying all three renderers

But nothing changed.

Check if any of the workaround in this will help, this CPU spikes red bar are linked to multithreading of the game, and sadly after the latest engine update it broke the optimization for older CPU (mostly) some still have problem even with newer PC's, this 100% problem with the game because it's only on path of exile.

So simply playing a yt video in the background did not change anything.

To be honest, having to make such kind of changes as suggested in that thread, and that thread is already from 2 years ago i noticed .. I think there is something severely wrong with the game / engine at this point - something that not the user needs to fix by altering the inner workings of his computer, but by GGG.

But seeing that in that 2 year old thread, there is not a single answer from GGG staff .. doesn't give a good impression.

We already spent less money on PoE recently, because we got a bit burned out on it, but were quite eager to get back in with affliction.

Yet unless this problem gets fixed or at least addressed in a manner that they acknowledge it and pledge to look into and fix it in the future, we won't spend anymore money as it's simply unplayable in this state.

New patch, new league. Nothing changed, all symptoms are still the same. I guess this will not changed or be fixed anymore.
