Audio cracking

While Path of Exile is open all audio from my computer is accompanied by a cracking sound mostly at the end of words or during spikes. Discord, web browser, Spotify and other games make this sound while poe is open.

This only happens on windowed full screen and windowed. Full screen doesn't make this sound happen. No other games on my PC makes this sounds.

I have tried all combinations of sound settings in poe and also set all sounds to false in the configuration file. I have run the pack check. I have used different headsets. Windows sound settings have also been tried in a different combination of settings.

None of this made any difference.
I could try a fresh install. I could download though steam but I don't really want to sit though such huge downloads. Any other things I can try?

Windows Here. When did it start for you?

Updating my graphics driver fixed them problem for now

I started playing like 1 week ago. I wanted to check if audio format is causing this, but pop os has only 32bit audio format, maybe poe supports only 24bit or lower...

Maybe you can try changing your audio format and test 24bit, I think it is easy to do that on windows. :)

I have nvidia driver 545 ... pop os doesnt allow me to install other drivers :/

turns out the updating graphics driver wasnt the full fix. slightly better but that might just be a placebo like effect.

I downloaded through steam and no better there.

I just tried 16 and 32 bit audio formats. No change.

windows, same problem here. so any news or updates with this problem?

As I found for me on windows, I get crackling sound only when POE minimized and in settings I have background fps set to any number. Disabling background FPS helped me, but lately I don't have problems with it.

You all have integrated sound cards or seperate ones?
