Gem Crafting

As the number of skill and support gems, and their variants, continues to grow, it seems a logical step to expand this idea in the future: gem crafting. Coming up with your own spells, based on a certain "budget." Similar to the spell making in Morrowind and Oblivion.

I don't understand what are you talking about.

In 3.23 there is no gem crafting. You buy gem on the market or gamble their alternative in the lab. Nothing less, nothing more.

Sorry. I realized that my text could be misunderstood. I edited for clarity.
That feature was awesome, I was gutted when it wasn't in Skyrim.

Honestly, the more customization, the better.

Even in D3 when you could change the look/feel/damage types of skills was epic e.g. turn a ray of frost into a ray of fire, or a flaming meteor into an ice comet etc

When could you do that in D3? I'm not doubting you, but I've played every season of D3 since it had seasons, plus I played on release, quit, and came back when loot 2.0 was enabled, and I don't remember that option.

i think i know what OP is talking about.

skill gems can have prefix and suffix.

Venomancer's Heavystrike of Gale

something like that.

i m pretty sure GGG intends to add something like that seeing they already have suffixes but as it is, the "crafting" is done via lab.
