One player controls the entire economy.

There is one player right now who owns 97% of the hinikoras locks in existance, and the vast majority of mirrored items in standard and league.
The entire economy of poe is set up for the rich to get richer and for hoarders to control the market.
Mirrors need to mirror BOTH items.

The standard economy is fucked anyways with the low amount of active players in this mode. But yes they should at least add a "split" like tag to an item once it is mirrored to prevent further copies of the same item.

That's not really much of a big problem as the locks are more of a powerful item finish close to perfect mirror tier items into perfect items without any crafted mod at all.
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

He might have 97% of Hinekora Locks. 97% is probably also amount of playerbase who dont care about it (or more like 99.97%)
It's standard bro
I remember in the days of Runescape 2 some guy was buying up all the Santa Hats and drove their price high. Free trade is the only way to handle trade, but also who cares about standard
